Finally, we have received planning consent this morning for this 25-dwelling affordable housing scheme in East Hull.
This has been a long and very stressful process taking exactly a year from submission to decision and nearly 3 years from agreeing to purchase the land and commencing designs and consultee reports.
Whilst the whole planning process has been slow, this is not the fault of Hull City Council planners but absolutely highlights the need for a huge overhaul of the planning process and the reforms currently on offer from the government will quite simply not be enough.
I would like to thank however, the planning officer for all his hard work with this application and thank all those involved including Matt Deakins at Ross Davy, Emma Lancaster at Quod, the many local firms involved in the numerous consultee reports and of course Pickering and Ferens Homes for persevering with us. They will be buying this scheme from us and we will be delivering this 100% affordable scheme for them which will be part funded by Homes England and we will be commencing works in the coming months.
